Neeraj Sharma is a Delhi based artist, well known and respected in the art circle for his work, which is primarily a fusion of tradition blending with modernity in abstraction.
Neeraj’s paintings are a manifestation of his love for music. Each of his paintings has a unique concept. They are mostly on textured canvas, in oil or acrylic. He works in all mediums – oil, acrylic, watercolors, pastels, dry crayons and charcoal. Neeraj is among the very few artists who are tech-savvy and also works on digital paintings. His visual expressions are deeply embedded in his travels across the country. He’s also do creative for top most ad agency of delhi.
From the picturesque Dehradun, Kota Rajasthan, interiors of Maharashtra to Mumbai Neeraj’s artistic journey started mushrooming at an early age and are heavily influenced by his childhood experiences and observations. Art is now his passion and profession both. The multiple rewards that have come his way have further encouraged him to pursue his passion. Neeraj has been the force behind many successful exhibitions across the country and has several awards to his credit.
He was a consultant artist with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and United Nations for producing IEC material for national health programme. He has also been jury for Ministry of Consumer Affairs for various events. He was featured in the Doordarshan program Kalaparikrama for his depiction of Radha-Krishna Rasleela in an abstract from. He also conducted art workshops for Masters of Fine Arts students from premier institutes across the country for developing IEC designs for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in December 2009.
Neeraj holds an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts and a Diploma in Fine Arts from Delhi Collage of Arts, New Delhi. Besides painting, Neeraj has designed cover designs and done illustrations for books. He has great interest in cartooning, caricature and designing comic strips.
Another passion is assembling miniatures of war ships and planes, which takes him down the memory lane to resonate with the wartime sirens and planes he witnessed during the India-Pakistan war as a child.
Neeraj enjoys his time with his tablet and graphic pen conceptualizing his next creation – whether a painting on canvas, a portrait or illustration. The initial digital version then blooms into another beautiful painting.
